Michael Cera Hosting Special SNL

The writers strike has halted production of Saturday Night Live but the cast will get together for a theater performance in New York City tomorrow. Michael Cera will be hosting the event with proceeds going to the Writers Guild strike fund.

Tickets for the show ($20 each) sold out almost instantly. If you want to try to scalp a ticket, or maybe just stand near the door and listen, the show starts at 11:30 p.m. at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater on West 26th Street.

“We are doing this to raise spirits, raise awareness and raise money for our hardworking production crews who will be having a hard holiday season if this strike continues,” SNL performer Amy Poehler told the Hollywood Reporter.

Cera, Dennings in ‘Nick and Norah’

Nick and Norah

Michael Cera and Kat Dennings will be staring in Mandate Pictures’ Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist. Based on Rachel Cohn and David Levithan’s 2006 young adult novel, the story is about two brokenhearted teenagers who fall in love during a sleepless night in New York spent searching for their favorite band’s unannounced show. Production is to begin by the end of the year.

Read a chapter of the novel and find out more about the upcoming movie.

Cera and Hill Love to Hate

When I was young I had a really close friend that would continually pummel me with insults. I would return the favor and it turned into a long lasting friendship. To this day my parents never really understood us. Well, it turns out that Michael Cera and Jonah Hill share that same closeness.

When ABC News recently interviewed the gruesome twosome they relentlessly taunted each other throughout a miniature golf game and traded insults over french fries and nachos. Truly, the mark of best friends.
