USA Weekend has a special feature about things you didn’t know about this summer’s biggest and best releases. Of course they included that quirky comedy we’re all looking forward too, Superbad, staring our favorite lovable actor Michael Cera!

For the opening credits sequence of this comedy about dysfunctional teenagers, the producers asked actor Michael Cera to do a 45-minute take of him dancing. Co-star Jonah Hill did the same dancing, but for just eight minutes. The director used one minute of each. According to a studio spokesperson, the filmmakers knew that they would only use a bit of the dancing, but they just wanted to make Cera uncomfortable for their own entertainment!

Sony has released a new poster for Ceras upcoming high-school comedy Superbad. I have high hopes for the film and so does Sony. Nice pants.

Ever since Arrested Development, Michael’s career has exploded. Super Bad will be released in theaters August 17th. Juno, with Michael alongside Jason Bateman and Jennifer Garner is due out sometime next year and The Good Life Clark and Michael staring Cera will be featured on InnerTube. Cera is a perfect example of success. With that, interviews have been popping up all over the Interwebs.

HC: Looking back at Arrested Development, what was that experience like? What was your favorite Arrested moment?

MC: I had a great time working on Arrested, it was an incredibly lucky experience for me. I don’t have any particular favorite moment, but hanging around David and Jason and Alia all the time was so much fun.

Cera develops beyond ‘Arrested’

Superbad is heading to theaters August 17th and Buzzsugar is pretty stoked about its release. The premise of Superbad appears to be about two co-dependent high school seniors (Hill and Cera) who are forced to deal with separation anxiety after their plan to stage a booze-soaked party goes wrong. Michael Cera will reunite with his old man from Arrested Development, Jason Bateman, as well as Allison Janney, Jennifer Garner, and Ellen Page to star in “Juno” for Fox Searchlight Pictures. Juno (Ellen Page) is a pregnant high school student, with Michael Cera playing her best friend and baby’s daddy. Justin Bateman and Jennifer Garner play an emotional troubled couple interested in adopting the baby, with Allison Janney playing Juno’s stepmother.

CBS has turned to Michael Cera for advice on how to attract new viewers, and how it should be distributed. Cera will be charged with producing a TV series for CBS’ Internet outlet, Innertube. The Good Life will be a mockumentary about two aspiring television producers who are convinced that their show is the next big thing. Cera, who says he doesn’t even watch television anymore, convinced executives to let him edit his series on a college campus, rather than at the network’s studios.

Cera is a firm believer in commercial free content. But how will they generate revenue?

In his now famous YouTube video, Cera parodies the egomaniacal video resume of Alexey Vayner. Mr. Vayner, a Yale student, sent his video, called “Impossible Is Nothing,” to investment banks in hopes of securing a job. His plan backfired and the video was leaked to YouTube prompting a flood of ridicule.

Cera’s creation, called “Impossible is the Opposite of Possible,” picks up on Mr. Vayner’s many hobbies (tennis, weight lifting and ballroom dancing) as well as his habit of speaking in over-the-top inspirational mottos.

We all know Cera is a fantastic actor and Arrested Development was quite possibly the best comedy of all time. Who will ever forget the banana stand? Ceras brilliant portrayal of George-Michael Bluth will live on in memory for years to come. Before the show was canceled, Brian Palmer had a chance to sit down with Cera when there was still a glimmer of hope for the series.

Do you think George Michael will ultimately end up with Anne?
I think Anne’s out of the picture. Man, I don’t like the way my voice sounds when I say Anne. It sounds like a cat. It’s because Mae Whitman is on another show now. But I think Anne’s out of the picture now. So it’s either Maeby or loneliness.
